Curriculum

Curriculum

VIJ curriculum is two parts. The first phase is educational; it is designed to teach men about the disease of addiction and the 12-step method of recovery. This education should be used in the individual’s recovery plan while they are at VIJ and after they leave VIJ and settle into everyday life. Phase II is designed to allow an individual to continue to practice recovery habits while living in a sober house. At the same time, they get into the work force and are encouraged to save enough money to secure housing and transportation so that they can maintain a healthy, sober lifestyle once they have completed our program.

Staying Sober

“While packed with powerful information about recovery and relapse prevention, it is written at the eighth-grade reading level to make information understandable by most patients. Staying Sober explains addictive disease, Post-Acute Withdrawal (PAW), recovery and partial recovery, mistaken beliefs about recovery and relapse, the relapse process, relapse prevention therapy, and the role of family involvement and relapse prevention …”

12 Steps– A Spiritual Journey

“We use The Twelve Steps–A Spiritual Journey as a vehicle to move our people down the road to further discipleship and fellowship. When used in the group experience, it promotes unity and molds people together into the family of God”. —Ron & Karen Martin, Founders & Directors, Liontamers Anonymous”

The Gospel of Matthew
